TRUST ME…..YOU’LL LOVE THIS: Ann Lightfoot

Of all the jewelry collections we have showcased in the shop over the years, it is no secret that Ann Lightfoot is one of my personal favorites. Not only does her aesthetic speak to my lifestyle, but her jewelry continues to resonate with Dovecote’s broad audience that ranges in age from 30-90+. Whether small and understated or a chunkier showstopper, Ann’s pieces exude an organic elegance, and their “layer-ability” leaves plenty of room for you craft your own individual statement.

ann lightfoot pink moonstone flower necklace

This pink moonstone flower necklace is the perfect size for layering with other flowers or mixing with strands of beads from Ann’s Fall collection.

I have been collecting Ann’s  flower necklaces for several years now – where “petals” of  pink moonstone, obsidian, shell, flat jasper and serpentine are seemingly “tied” together to form handsome, simple flowers on 17” braided cords so you can adjust the lengths and wear them a million ways – from a  single flower peeking out from the neck of a shirt to several worn en masse for a striking  statement…..or wrap around your wrist and wear as a bracelet. Their versatility makes this a great gift idea for a niece or granddaughter when you have no idea what “phase” she is in! I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love these. We talked last week about the “newness of green,” and guess what’s new in Ann’s collection for Fall? Aventurine flower necklaces and earrings in the most gorgeous shades of green! (I’m in trouble!)

ann lightfoot feldspar necklace with cashmere wrap

Ann’s multi-strand feldspar beaded necklace beautifully complements our rose ash cashmere wrap from KAS.

Ann’s jewelry reflects her interest in other cultures and her time living and working abroad. After graduating from Harvard College, Ann ran a teaching program in Bangkok, Thailand and worked for Save the Children in the Phanat Nikhom refugee camps. She has traveled throughout Southeast Asia and her first jewelry designs were created out of jade medallions and vintage glass stones found in a Shanghai antique market. She continues to use fine materials from Asia, South America and Africa in her work.

It is always a special thrill to have Ann join us each season with her trove of extraordinary treasures. This is a great opportunity to expand your own collection…. or perhaps fall in love for the very first time. Stop by the shop today through Sunday and explore with us!

Trust me……you’ll love Ann, and you will love this collection!
