Summer in Fearrington Village has a way of inviting us outdoors. Whether it's an early morning stroll beneath towering hardwoods, a visit to the beloved Belted Galloway cows, or an afternoon spent exploring the Village Center, warm weather is part of life in our corner of North Carolina. Fortunately, Fearrington continues to make it easier—and more sustainable—to stay cool while enjoying everything the community has to offer....
Throughout the Village Center we have placed dog bowls for folks walking their dogs. Remember to keep your bird baths full of refreshing water for all the creatures that may approach....a rock in the center is essential for bees that might fall in!

Swim and Croquet Club
Our beautiful outdoor swimming pool is optional membership and open May through September. It offers opportunties to cool off with laps at dusk or reading under a parasol or the shade of the many trees that surround it. Early morning water aerobics are offered throughout the season.
A Shady Path
The walking paths are inviting even in the heat as they offer cooling shade as they wind among the trees. It is a pleasant way to get your excercise in while enjoying the outdoors even on those hot days. For those who want the longer walks, these paths offer some respite from the sun and an opportunity to rest.
A Sustainable Change
We recently traded our plastic water bottles for reusable aluminum ones. There is a refilling water station on the front porch of Roost, for refilling while on those long walks! Don't forget to drink plenty of water, we often don't realize how challenging it is to stay hydrated in this humidity.
