Dear Gentle Reader,
We hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather as much as we are! We think it's perfect for reading on the porch.

Football. Derrick Barnes is a National Book Award Finalist, three-time recipient of the Coretta Scott King Award Author Honor, two-time recipient of the Kirkus Prize, and a Newbery Honor. This is actually only a selection of his awards and nominations!! Besides sports nonfiction titles, Derrick is also the author of the middle grade novel The Incredibly Human Henson Blayzeand many truly excellent picture books (our favorites at McIntyre's are Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut and I Am Every Good Thing). The Who Got Game? series is great for readers age 8-12, but all ages are welcome at this event!
On Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00am we host Sarai Walkerfor her latest novel, Furious Violet. Gripping, provocative, and laced with pitch-black humor, Furious Violetis a psychological thrill ride and a fierce exploration of motherhood, fame, and the question of who can lay claim to women’s legacies. Sarai Walker delivers a heroine unlike any other: damaged, defiant, and utterly unforgettable.
