Dear Gentle Reader,
We wanted to take a pause and share what our hardworking friends at CORA (the group behind Chatham County's food pantry) have been up to. They believe every child deserves to eat well, andno child should ever feel ashamed for needing help.CORApacks was built around that belief. Once a month, a box of nutritious food is delivered directly to a family’s home, with enough food for every day school is not in session. Weekends, holiday breaks, digital learning days. One box per child, delivered with care, so families are never left to wonder how they will fill the gap. There is no line to stand in, no moment of visibility that can sting. Just food, brought to the door with dignity. To help support CORA, you can make a donationhere.
And while you may or may not be a basketball fan, you can still participate in March Madness.Chatham County businesses are going head to head to see who can collect the most children's books for Chatham Reads. Please drop off your gently used books at McIntyre's to help us move to the next round!
This weekend (Saturday, March 29 at 11am), we are over the moon to welcome backSteve Cavanagh.Steve is travelling from Northern Ireland in support of his latest Eddie Flynn novel, Two Kinds of Stranger. Steve is a store favorite, and you should definitely have a copy of this book on your vacation pile or a signed book for Father's Day.
Sunday at 2pm, we host our March session of readings we host with the North Carolina Poetry Society. Join us to listen to Jameela Dallis, Cheryl Wilder, and Al Maginnes.
For the craftersout there, we have a nice selection of Emily Lex watercolor workbooks. and beefed up our craft books in the sale section. If you are looking for creative ways to spend time offline-- come and check it out!
