Dear Gentle Reader,

In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, may the luck of the Irish be with you, and may you be lucky enough to attend our reading with Steve Cavanagh on Saturday, March 28th at 11am. Directly from Northern Ireland, one of our absolutely favorite thriller writers is popping in to share his latest Eddie Flynn novel, Two Kinds of Stranger. So thinking ahead to summer vacation and starting your reading pile, this book is exactly what you will want to read.

'Twists and turns galore. Not to be missed.' DAILY MAIL
'Steve Cavanagh is known for his twisty, baroque plotting, but seems to have surpassed himself here...ingenious' SUNDAY TIMES, BEST THRILLERS OF 2025
'This crime thriller is fast and relentless and the plot throws some real shockers. Fill your lungs before you start - you're in for a breathless ride' THE SUN

We have been fans for years and are delighted to host Steve for another reading. To attend, buy a copy of Two Kinds of Stranger from McIntyre's and you and a friend can grab seats.

This Sunday, March 22 at 2pm, we are making up for weather and are hosting a group of poets whose North Carolina Poetry Society readingwas "weathered" out.  Join us for Dasan Ahanu, Morrow Dowdle, and Jay Bryan. Next weekend, March 29th at 2pm, our March event with NCPS will feature Jameela Dallis, Cheryl Wilder, and Al Maginnes. Readings are followed by a signing and open mic session.

Starting next week we're in competition with other local businesses to see who can collect the most children's books for Chatham Reads for March Book Madness! Please bring in your gently used children's books or purchase new ones from McIntyre's to help us win. If you’re shopping in person let us know you're planning to donate and we'll discount your purchase by 20%. You can also order online from our Chatham Reads wishlist right here - we keep this list updated with their most in-demand categories.

Let us sign off here with dangling a carrot. Keep your eyes peeled. We have two major announcements of upcoming author visits that we cannot wait to share with you. All in due time, though.

The Usual Suspects,

Pete, Johanna, Sarah G., Tyler, Amy, Juliana, Sarah C. and Keebe
