What drew you to Fearrington? Well, I needed a job! I was managing the restaurant as well as weddings and events; it was one position then. How long have you been part of the team? Thirty-seven years. There’s no place like home. What do you like most about being part of the team here? RB and Jenny were such lovely people—fair, lots of integrity. They did things right. RB is such a good man to work for. And he always had a knack for hiring happy people. I love the people I work with. I love being surrounded by really nice, competent people. I didn’t want a corporate environment and this is not that. What was your most memorable experience? One was the first time I ever had to help get a cow back into the cow pasture! Another was probably my first dinner at the Fearrington House Restaurant with my first paycheck. I took my parents and I ordered sweetbreads, which I had never had. To this day, I still crave sweetbreads. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work? I walk my dogs and work on my garden, here in Fearrington!
