Wine Dinner: Chappellet

Chappellet is recognized as one of the great Napa Valley wineries, and one of the few which remains truly family owned. Founded by Molly and Donn Chappellet in 1967, today a second generation of the Chappellet family has embraced the mountain’s exceptional terroir and is committed to stewarding their father’s vision for generations to come. Together, the siblings are dedicated to maintaining sustainable farming techniques, a relentless focus on wine quality, respect for Pritchard Hill’s natural beauty, and the preservation of family ownership into the future. Their signature pyramid shaped winery has been called “the most remarkable wine cathedral of the modern world” by wine writer Hugh Johnson.

Fearrington is blessed with a visit from vintners Amy & Dominic Chappellet to lead us through highlights of what’s happening at the winery today. They will present a lineup of classic selections including the 2005 Pritchard Hill Cabernet. Amy is Chappellet’s Director of Trade Relations, where she acts as a family ambassador, hosts Direct to Consumer and trade events, and travels the globe focusing on relationship building with the world’s finest restaurants and resorts, including Relais & Châteaux. Dominic is the COO of Chappellet and the youngest of six, born a year after the winery was founded.
