NC Poetry Society Series Featuring Readings by Joanie McLean, Michael Hettich, and Bill Griffin
Please join us for our series of poetry readings cosponsored by the North Carolina Poetry Society. Each session includes readings by three poets followed by an open mic session.
Joanie McLean is an ecologist and poet living in Silk Hope, North Carolina. She is the winner of the New Millennium Writings Prize for Poetry and a three-time finalist for the James Applewhite Prize. She has published four poetry collections; the most recent, Like Wind Into Air, received honorable mention for the Lena Shull Book Award.
Michael Hettich has published more than a dozen books of poetry. His honors include Fellowships from the Florida Arts Council, The Tampa Review Prize, the David Martinson Prize, the Lena M. Shull Book Award, and the inaugural Hudson-Fowler Prize from Slant magazine at the University of Central Arkansas. He lives in Black Mountain.
Bill Griffin is a naturalist and retired family doctor in rural North Carolina. How We All Fly, from Orchard Street Press, is his seventh collection.
