
NCPS April Poetry Reading with Kenneth Chamlee, AE Hines, and Michael Hettich

Kenneth Chamlee’s latest collections are The Best Material for the Artist in the World, a poetic biography of 19th century American landscape painter Albert Bierstadt (Stephen F. Austin State University Press, 2023), and If Not These Things (Kelsay Books, 2022). Ken was a Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet for the NC Poetry Society in 2022 and 2023.
AE Hines is the author of Adam in the Garden (Charlotte Lit Press, 2024) and Any Dumb Animal (Main Street Rag, 2021). He has won the Red Wheelbarrow Prize and Palette Poetry’s Love and Eros Prize, and has been a finalist for the Montreal International Poetry Prize. He received his MFA from Pacific University.
Michael Hettich’s most recent book of poetry, The Halo of Bees: New and Selected Poems, 1990-2022 won the 2024 Brockman-Campbell Book Award from the North Carolina Poetry Society. His poetry, essays, and reviews have appeared in many journals and anthologies. A book of his interviews, And the Poet Said…, was published in 2024.
