Katherine Soniat‘s eighth collection, Polishing the Glass Storm, was published by LSU Press in 2022. In 2023 her ninth book, Starfish Wash-up, came out from Etruscan Press. A Shared Life won the Iowa Poetry Prize. The Swing Girl was selected as Best Collection of 2011 by the North Carolina Poetry Council. Katherine lives in Swannanowa.
Joseph Bathanti is the former North Carolina Poet Laureate (2012-14) and recipient of the North Carolina Award in Literature, the state’s highest civilian honor. Author of twenty books, including The Act of Contrition & Other Stories, Bathanti is the McFarlane Family Distinguished Professor of Interdisciplinary Education at Appalachian State University.
Eric Nelson‘s collection Horse Not Zebra won Honorable Mention for the Brockman-Campbell Book Award and for the Eric Hoffer Poetry Award. His book Terrestrials was chosen by Maxine Kumin for the X.J. Kennedy Award, and The Interpretation of Waking Life won the University of Arkansas Poetry Award. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
