It’s a quiet place, where neighbors know and care for each other, a feeling of living in a “small” community within a larger one.
It’s walking the numerous trails and outdoor spaces each day and meeting familiar faces, neighbors stopping to chat, happy dogs eagerly greeting their buddies.
It’s the ability to walk to a village where life is thriving, pick up a last minute gift, have lunch, purchase a good book, or just share a glass of wine with friends. Best of all, friendly faces are everywhere I wander, from the shop keepers who call my name as a welcome and offer a warm greeting when I enter, a “treat” for my dog to neighbors on the sidewalk or sitting outside enjoying a cup of coffee or pizza.
It’s lazy summer days spent enjoying the beautiful outdoor pool in a lovely landscaped setting where I can exercise, read a good book or meet friends and have a picnic or play cards under the shade trees.
It’s sitting on my porch each morning, coffee in hand and listening to the birds chatter as they flitter from tree to tree.
It’s the dark nights when you can sit outside in the stillness, look up and actually see millions of stars shining brilliantly.
Most of all, it’s the joy and love felt by all who have a shared sense of gratitude for calling Fearrington Village home that makes it so special. With the world feeling like it’s crashing down around us, it is comforting to know we have this small tranquil spot to welcome us, and call home!
