Fearrington Living
You’ve Got Mail!
Did you know that Fearrington Village has no mailboxes? Instead we have Seven Mail Kiosks peppered throughout the community. Not only is this kind of cool way to get your mail, it is provides a really nice opportunity to meet a neighbor or two and chat about happenings around the community as each kiosk has large bulletin boards detailing events. The kiosks also double as neighborhood book nests, so there are always books and magazines to pick up and enjoy or drop off for others. One mail kiosk here is adjacent to the farm’s old smoke house, complete with log walls and tin roof, preserved in time, for us to enjoy as a bona fide book exchange! As an extremely literary community, books are important to us. There are dozens of book clubs to join here and several writers too. Bonus: caught in a summer rain on your walk? Pop into a mail kiosk and browse! Lesson in there somewhere: read as much as you can while you wait out the storm.
