The Cutting Garden
The Cutting Garden
The Cutting Garden is located along the road behind The Fearrington House Inn. Affectionately known as Jenny’s stick garden, Jenny planted this well used cutting garden in the 1980s. The name evolved because if there was a flower, and Jenny had a need, only a stick remained. With the early start to spring, the beds are filled to bursting with daffodils and other early spring bloomers.
Today, the Cutting Garden is maintained by a longtime Fearrington staff gardener, and the flowers and foliage fill table arrangements, refreshing flowers throughout the Village, filling in special orders, and wedding floral arrangements.
There is a bench at the back of the Cutting Garden situated with a perfect view. In the springtime, the garden is often populated with pollinators and beautiful butterflies. Sit a spell and enjoy the bright colors!
