Juicy, fragrant and classically Burgundian, this 100% Pinot Noir shows red cherry, strawberry and plum with violet, nutmeg, licorice and gentle earthy spice. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and fine, structured tannins, it has enough depth to feel serious while still remaining fresh and approachable.
Maison Chanzy was founded in Bouzeron in the Côte Chalonnaise and today works across a broad range of Burgundy appellations, with a strong focus on sustainable viticulture and site expression. Les Bussières comes from a single vineyard in the northeast of Mercurey, where southeast-facing vines grow in relatively deep clay-limestone soils.
The 2022 undergoes a seven-day cold soak with gentle extraction, then ages for 10 months in older French oak barriques before bottling without fining or filtration. The result is polished but not overly oaked, with ripe fruit, spice and a bright finish. A versatile red Burgundy for roast chicken, duck, mushrooms or charcuterie.
