CHÂTEAU LATOUR-MARTILLAC ROUGE 2019 - Fearrington Village

CHÂTEAU LATOUR-MARTILLAC ROUGE 2019

Deep, polished and classically Pessac-Léognan, this Cabernet-led Bordeaux shows blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry with cedar, black olive, white pepper and savory herbs. The palate is rich and structured, with fine, dusty tannins and enough freshness to keep the wine elegant rather than heavy.

Château Latour-Martillac is a Cru Classé de Graves and has been owned by the Kressmann family since the late 19th century. Its vineyards sit on the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, an ideal setting for Cabernet Sauvignon and a key source of the wine’s firm structure and mineral, smoky character.

The 2019 blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot, with about 40% new oak used during aging. The result is generous and velvety, with ripe dark fruit, spice and polished tannins. Now entering a very good drinking window, it will also continue to develop beautifully in the cellar; pair it with roast beef, lamb, steak or aged cheeses.
