Champagne & Caviar Dinner with Champagne Jacquesson - Fearrington Village

Champagne & Caviar Dinner with Champagne Jacquesson

Fearrington Village proudly welcomes Chris Lozano of Artémis Domaines for an extraordinary evening celebrating the remarkable Champagnes of Jacquesson and one of gastronomy's most luxurious pairings: Champagne and caviar.

Founded in 1798, Jacquesson is one of Champagne's most historic houses, yet its approach to winemaking is decidedly unconventional. Rather than pursuing a consistent house style year after year, Jacquesson embraces the individuality of each harvest, crafting Champagnes that express the character of their vineyards, the nuances of the growing season, and the remarkable complexity that comes with time. From its celebrated numbered Cuvée 700 series to rare single-vineyard bottlings and extended-aged releases, Jacquesson offers a fascinating exploration of Champagne at its most distinctive.

Chef Paul Gagne and Wine Director Troy Revell will create a custom multi-course dinner celebrating the extraordinary affinity between fine Champagne and caviar. Special guest Chris Lozano will present the wines, sharing the history and philosophy behind Jacquesson while guiding guests through a selection of its distinctive Champagnes. Together, we'll explore how vineyard origin, vintage, and aging shape each wine's character, and how Champagne's vibrant acidity, delicate bubbles, and savory complexity complement the richness and subtle flavors of caviar.

Join us for an elegant evening devoted to exceptional wines, inspired cuisine, and one of gastronomy's most celebrated pairings.

We hope you can join us, Thursday December 17th at 6:30pm.

▼CHAMPAGNE JACQUESSON

Founded in 1798 in Dizy, in the heart of Champagne's Marne Valley, Champagne Jacquesson has spent more than two centuries building a reputation for exceptional quality and an independent spirit. Among its early admirers was Napoleon Bonaparte, who reportedly awarded the house a gold medal in recognition of its wines.

Jacquesson's modern identity was shaped by brothers Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, who took over the family business in the late twentieth century and gradually transformed it into one of Champagne's most admired producers. Their philosophy placed vineyard character above the pursuit of a uniform house style, emphasizing careful farming, restrained intervention, and a commitment to expressing each harvest as faithfully as possible.

Perhaps the house's most distinctive innovation is its Cuvée 700 series, introduced as an alternative to traditional non-vintage Champagne. Each numbered release is built around a particular harvest, with reserve wines used to enhance complexity rather than erase vintage differences. The result is a succession of Champagnes that tell the story of individual growing seasons, each with its own personality.

Beyond the numbered cuvées, Jacquesson produces exceptional single-vineyard Champagnes from distinguished sites, alongside its Dégorgement Tardif releases, which spend additional years aging on their lees before disgorgement. These wines reveal Champagne's extraordinary ability to develop richness, texture, and complexity while retaining freshness and precision.

Today, Jacquesson stands among the most compelling names in Champagne, celebrated for wines that balance tradition with individuality and offer a remarkable sense of place.

A historic Champagne house with an uncompromisingly modern vision.
