    B. WISE VINEYARDS 'WISDOM' CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018

    Rich, dark-fruited and polished, Wisdom 2018 shows blackberry, cassis, black cherry and black raspberry layered with graphite, cocoa, sage and tobacco. Full-bodied but not overly heavy, it has a broad, silky texture with enough tannin to give the wine structure and a long, savory finish.

    B. Wise is based on Moon Mountain in Sonoma, but Wisdom is a separate Cabernet bottling built from fruit spanning both Napa and Sonoma. The 2018 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 75% of the fruit from Napa County and 25% from Moon Mountain in Sonoma County, bringing together Napa’s plush dark fruit with the firmer, more mineral character of mountain-grown Sonoma Cabernet.

    The wine was aged for about 20 months in French oak, with 25% new barrels, adding polish and spice without overwhelming the fruit. Now with several years of bottle age, the tannins have softened while the cassis, tobacco and earthy notes have become more integrated. A generous, mature California Cabernet that delivers both richness and structure, and a particularly interesting expression of two neighboring but distinct growing regions in one bottle.
