Bustld, “A Garden Wedding With a Travel Inspired Theme”

Kaitlin and Eric met working together at Deloitte consulting in Washington, D.C. They worked together for a year before Eric headed to North Carolina to pursue his MBA at Duke University. The two remained good friends until Kaitlin visited her parents in Durham and Eric offered to treat her to dinner. After that, they became more than just good friends!
Eric’s initial proposal plan was unknowingly changed by Kaitlin so the next opportunity he had to pop the questions was a trip to Istanbul. He managed to secretly get the ring through several airport security checks and taxi rides to pull it off as they were strolling through the city. They came upon a fountain and Eric asked a bystander (who was secretly a photographer) to take a photo of them. Eric got down on one knee and asked Kaitlin to marry him and she excitedly said yes!
The two planned a gorgeous fall wedding at Fearrington Village, a historic dairy farm outside of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Prior to their gorgeous garden ceremony, the couple shared an emotional first look complete with sweet hugs and happy tears. Their outdoor ceremony was followed by an amazing reception in the enchanting Fearrington Barn. The 1920’s barn was transformed with details inspired by Kaitlin and Eric’s world travels paired with soft pinks and florals. The escort cards were pink boarding passes with each guest’s name on them and tables were named after destinations around the world that were special to the couple. The night was filled with sweet toasts, lots of dancing dips and twirls to Bunn DJ Company’s amazing set, and so much love and laughter — it was the perfect start to Kaitlin and Eric’s adventure together as husband and wife!
