Gentle Reader – March 11, 2025
Dear Gentle Reader,
We are here to share some great news. Our dear friend Craig Johnson is visiting McIntyre’s on SUNDAY, June 1st at 2pm. This will be a ticketed event, so when you buy a copy of Return to Sender, you and a friend can attend Craig’s event and will receive a copy of the newest Longmire novel. More good news to come next week, so if you do not follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you should!
Earlier, we mentioned the Chatham Literacy’s Spring into Literacy luncheonwhich will feature beloved author Marjorie Hudson on Thursday, May 15th at the Governor’s Club. Tickets are now available to purchase for this event that helps fund the worthy endeavors of the Literacy Council’s outreach all year long.
This Saturday at 11am, we welcome nature writer David Gessner who will discuss The Book of Flaco: The World’s Most Famous Bird with his wife, the novelist Nina de Gramont.
Next week, we will be visited with a flurry of events. Thursday night, March 20th, at 7pm join us as we celebrate the Our State Book Club quarterly meet up with Wiley Cash, poet and memoirist Judy Goldman, National Book Award-winner Jason Mott, and Our State Editor-in-Chief Elizabeth Hudson for a delightful discussion with light hors d’ouevres and libations. Tickets are available here. Saturday at 11am, we are excited to host Patti Callahan Henry, who will talk about her new novel The Story She Left Behind with Frances Mayes. When you buy your copy of Patti’s Book from McIntyre’s, you not only get the book, but you and a friend can attend the event in the Fearrington Barn. Then Saturday at 2pm, Travis Mullhouser will share The Trouble Up North, an atmospheric, haunting novel about a family of bootleggers, their troubled history, and the land that binds them.
Oh, and if you need another reason to come out and see us, we have been unpacking all kinds of new books and merchandise we cannot wait to share with you.
The Usual Suspects,
Pete, Johanna, Sarah, Tyler, Amy and Keebe
