May NCPS Poetry reading with Jenny Bates, Angell Caudill, and David Dixon
Join us on Sunday, May 28th for our monthly event with the North Carolina Poetry Society. This month features Jenny Bates, Where the Deer Sleep, Angell Caudill, A Worm Rolls Over, and David Dixon, The Scattering of Saints.
Jenny Bates is a member of the Winston-Salem Writers, NC Poetry Society and NC Writers Network. Her published books include Coyote with Coffee, Visitations, and Slip. Her newest collection is Where the Deer Sleep. Known local animal whisperer to Donkeys, Coyotes and “Crow Folk.”
A Worm Rolls Over is Angell Caudill’s first full-length poetry collection. Her poetry has appeared in The Camel City Dispatch, The Haiku Journal, Poetry in Plain Sight and Flying South. She served on the board of Winston-Salem Writers, as a judge for Poetry in Plain Sight, and as poetry editor for Flying South. In 2019 Angell launched Hermit Feathers Press.
David Dixon is a physician, poet and musician who lives and practices in the foothills of North Carolina. His work has appeared in Rock & Sling, The Northern Virginia Review, Connecticut River Review, FlyingSouth, The Greensboro Review, and elsewhere. He is the author of The Scattering of Saints.
