The Valdemar family winery history began in 1889 with the first generation in a small cellar in Oyón, Spain. The family’s fifth generation, siblings Ana and Jesús Martínez Bujanda, now lead the company, which is known for both its deep roots in Rioja and its pioneering spirit. They have a history of innovation, including launching Spain’s first barrel-fermented white wine and creating the first single-varietal Maturana and Tempranillo Blanco wines. In recent years, the family expanded its legacy by establishing Valdemar Estates in Washington State.
