ROSEMONT 'KILVAROCK' MERLOT BLEND 2022

Juicy, fresh, dark-fruited, Kilravock 2022 blends 43% Merlot, 35% Petit Verdot and 22% Cabernet Franc. Black raspberry, dark cherry and fig are layered with violet, cedar, and dark chocolate, soft tannins give the wine nice structure and length.
Rosemont is a family-owned estate in southern Virginia, and Kilravock is its signature red blend, assembled each vintage from the barrels the winery believes best represent the vineyard. The name comes from Kilravock Castle in Scotland, ancestral seat of the Rose family since the 15th century.
The 2022 was hand harvested and aged for 18 months in oak, including 50% new barrels, with French oak making up the majority adding significant sweet spice flavors. Rosemont considers 2022 one of its strongest vintages. Merlot brings plush fruit, while Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc add grip, perfume and complexity.
