"Effusive aromas of Bing Cherry, boysenberry and black tea open to dark chocolate and more jammy cherry. Generous and varietally expressive, the rhubarb and black cherry flavors expand into a savory juicy core. A rich, lush, and earthy mid-palate bring blueberry and chocolate, with a seamless rounded finish" — WInemaker Alison Doran
A rich juicy expression of Californian Merlot, soft silky tannins take a backseat to make way for strong fruit flavors. This is a warm vintage, barrel aged for 21 months in 40% new oak.
While we may be on opposite coasts, we share much in common with Belted Vines-most notably our mutual affinity for Belted Galloway cows. Like Fearrington, the Belted Vines estate became enamored with this beautiful Scottish breed and purchased a herd in the 1980s. They have since become the longest continuously operating breeder of Belted Galloway cattle in California.
Wine is a new endeavor for the family, following the hiring of winemaker Alison Doran to farm vines that were previously leased on their property. We are happy to support our spiritual sibling in this new venture.
