Rich, polished and fruit-forward, this Cabernet-led blend shows ripe blackberry and raspberry with plum, cocoa, cigar box and warm baking spice. Full-bodied but approachable, it has juicy acidity, well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth finish.
Alexandria Nicole Cellars was founded by Jarrod and Ali Boyle and is centered around their Destiny Ridge Estate Vineyard in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills. The vineyard sits high above the Columbia River, where warm days, steady winds and well-drained soils help produce deeply flavored wines with plenty of freshness.
The 2021 blend is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 12% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. It was aged for 19 months in French oak, with 36% new barrels, adding cocoa, toast and spice around the ripe fruit. Generous and polished without being overly heavy, it is a versatile Washington red for steak, burgers, pasta or wood-fired pizza.
