There is something about a great hat that can completely finish a fall look, and few makers have the heritage of Wigens.
Founded in 1906 in Tranås, Sweden, by Oscar Wigén, the company quickly became known for meticulous craftsmanship and an obsessive attention to detail. That philosophy still defines the brand more than a century later. Wigens hats are designed in Sweden and made in the company’s factory in Estonia, where traditional techniques remain an important part of production.
What makes them special is the combination of old-world craftsmanship, exceptional fabrics, and practical design. Many styles are hand-shaped on wooden blocks and made from beautiful European materials including Harris Tweed, Italian wools and cashmere, Irish tweeds, linen, and technical fabrics designed to stand up to real weather.
That is exactly why we love them at Thistle & Oak.
These are not hats that feel overly precious or costume-like. They are beautifully made, comfortable, functional, and incredibly wearable. A classic cap instantly adds character to a jacket and jeans, a baseball cap gives everyday dressing a more polished finish, and a brimmed hat can completely transform a fall coat.
This Friday and Saturday, we are delighted to welcome the Wigens Trunk Show to Thistle & Oak.
It is the perfect opportunity to find your hat for the season, whether your style is a ball cap, classic flat or newsboy cap, or a traditional brimmed hat. Come try on different shapes, explore the fabrics, and find the one that feels like you.
Because sometimes the finishing touch really is the hat.
