March 16, 2026

March is a time to celebrate the strength, creativity, and leadership of women in our community. Here in Fearrington Village, women shape the heart of village life—through the arts, local business, volunteerism, wellness initiatives, and everyday acts of neighborly kindness. As spring begins to bloom across our gardens and walking paths, it’s the perfect season to recognize the women who help our village flourish year-round.

In the heart of Fearrington, one of the groups that has quietly and consistently helped shape the rhythm of community life is the Women of Fearrington (WoF).

The Women of Fearrington works to serve the needs of women and children of Chatham County via a grant giving program. Membership is open to all women who live in Fearrington Village and Galloway Ridge. WoF is committed to enriching the members lives socially, culturally and intellectually all while fostering friendships.  And did you know that they have created a whimsical “Fearrington license plate” whose sales proceeds contribute funds to their causes? This wonderful group has been going strong for over 38 years and in 2025 raised over $55,000 to twelve individual nonprofits serving women and children of Chatham County.

Whether coordinating seasonal celebrations, mentoring new residents, or supporting local causes in nearby Pittsboro, their impact is lasting and meaningful.

Women of Fearrington incorporated in 2011 and became a 501(c)(3) in 2014.
