Dear Gentle Reader,

Thank you to those who brought food and pet food donations in the last week! We will continue to collect any donations over the next several months and all will go to CORA food pantries.

Our 2026 Elaine O'Neil calendars are here. Fans of Elaine will appreciate our favorite fabric artist's latest designs showcasing her love of North Carolina. We also have a nice selection of holiday cardsout for those who want a jump on the season. Swing by to check them out!

This Saturday, November 22nd at 11am, we welcome Libby Buck, who will discuss her novel Port Anna with Laura Beth Vietor. Port Anna is an enchanting debut novel exploring second chances and blossoming romance in a charming port town in Maine, perfect for fans of J. Courtney Sullivan’s The Cliffs and Catherine Newman’s Sandwich.

Donald Davis, our beloved friend and storytelling maestro, will be here before you know it! Tickets are available for Saturday, December 21and Sunday, December 22nd. Donald is here to entertain and to help raise food and funds forCORA, the Chatham County food pantry. We hope you will plan to bring nonperishable foods or cash as an extra donation when you attend. Our friends from Chatham Reads will also be on hand to accept book donations for literacy projects in Chatham County. If you've donated books to Chatham Reads at McIntyre's recently, they've gone to the family spaces at CORA food pantries for kids to enjoy while their parents shop for groceries.

If you'd like an opportunity to be more personally involved in sharing books with local kids, Chatham Reads is also currently seeking volunteers to support literacy and library programs in our elementary schools. As a Library Volunteer, you will provide valuable assistance to school librarians, helping create engaging and well-managed learning environments for students. For more information, each out to Chatham Reads via email (contact@cefmail.org) or fill out their onlineapplication for volunteers

The Usual Suspects,

Pete, Johanna, Sarah G., Tyler, Amy, Juliana, Sarah C. and Keebe
