This Sunday, January 25th at 2pm, we kick off our 2026 Poetry Series with the North Carolina Poetry Society. This month's readers include Dasan Ahanu, Morrow Dowdle, and Jay Bryan. An open mic session follows.
On the last Saturday of the month, January 31st at 11am, Sylvester Allenand Belle Boggs join us for a discussion of their bookThe Legend of Wyatt Outlaw: From Reconstruction Through Black Lives Matter. With strong connections to the town of Graham and Alamance county, these two authorssought to discover why Wyatt Outlaw's story of success had been erased from mainstream history books and local knowledge. In this new biography they share what they found in artful detail and connect Outlaw's story to the violence against Black people in Alamance and throughout the United States, from Reconstruction through Jim Crow, the civil rights era, and Black Lives Matter. Actor, playwright and director Mike Wiley will lead the conversation.
