Congratulations are in order for our friend and neighbor, Sheri Castle. Sheri's PBS cooking show, The Key Ingredient with Sheri Castle just won its second regional Emmy Awardfor Best Lifestyle Show. The Key Ingredientis a cooking show that tells stories about local ingredients that bring joy. 

On Saturday, February 28th at 11amgraphic novel author/illustrator Tate Godwin will introduce his latest graphic novel, Operation: Make a Splash, and guide kids through a fun-filled workshop to create their own graphic novels. Free to attend and no materials necessary! Great for ages 7-12, but all ages are welcome. Tate has recently visited several local schools for the Chatham Young Author's Program; this is a great chance for young readers to spend some extra time with the author and get their books autographed! 

At 2pm, next Saturday,we welcome Katrina Denza to McIntyre's. She will discuss her collection. Burner and Other Stories, with novelist Joanna Pearson. Katrina Denza writes about women in conflict: attempting to woo a man via a burner phone, subscribing to a hologram service to speak to a deceased husband, confronting the frustrations of being an artist, reckoning with mistakes made as a mother and much more. Wrestling with connections and disconnections, highs and lows, and the vagaries of modernity, Burner and Other Storiesshows us how we live today. Her work has earned a scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. 

The following week, we welcome back writing guru Margot Lesterfor her monthly office hours (Wednesday 1:30-3:30pm) and beloved novelist, Donna Everhart. Donna will be here Saturday, March 7th at 11am to discuss her latest, Women of a Promiscuous Nature.

Finally, it is time for our semi-annual Book Club Gatherings. Join us onThursday evening, March 12th,forBook Club Night (wine, charcuterie, give-aways and book club recs) or Friday morning,March 13th (coffee, pastry, give-aways and book club recs) for our Book Club Morning Social. The McIntyre's staff will be on hand to share recs along with our new neighbor, Therese Anne Fowler. Therese recently moved to Chatham County and is excited to share some of her favorite titles for book clubs. She is the New York Times, IndieBound, and USA Today bestselling author of multiple novels including Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, which was adapted for television starring Christina Ricci, and most recently It All Comes Down to This. She has been a finalist for the Goodreads Choice Award and the Southern Book Prize for fiction. Her articles and essays have appeared in The Week, Harper’s Bazaar, The Telegraph, and elsewhere. Her novels are sold in translation worldwide. Our gatherings are a great way for book club members or discerning readers to find stellar new books. Tickets are $10.
