Every year, we try to tackle a few much-needed updates around the property. Some are very visible, others less so, but all are part of the ongoing work of caring for a place that has grown and evolved over many years.
Earlier this year, we gave the Restaurant and Park building a fresh exterior update, followed by more recently a much-needed spruce-up at The Belted Goat. It is amazing what a little attention to paint, trim, and exterior details can do to make a building feel refreshed again.
This past summer, we turned our attention to two of our Grand Suite bathrooms—one above the bank and one next to Thistle & Oak.
Both were completely renovated with new air-bubble tubs, spacious showers, heated floors, crisp white tile with black grout, and matte black fixtures. The result feels clean, modern, and luxurious while still fitting naturally into the character of Fearrington.
Bathrooms may not be the most glamorous thing to talk about, but anyone who has renovated one knows how much goes into getting every detail right—and how much of a difference a beautiful, functional bathroom can make to a guest stay.
We are very happy with how these two turned out and hope to continue updating the remaining park building bathrooms over the next year.
There is always something on the list at Fearrington—and, somehow, the list never seems to get shorter—but it is rewarding to see these improvements come together one project at a time.
