NC Poetry Society Event with Bridget Bell, Anne Maren-Hogan, and Michael Wayne Friedman
Our series of poetry readings with the NC Poetry Society continues…

Bridget Bell’s debut poetry collection–All That We Ask of You Is to Always Be Happy (CavanKerry, 2025)–explores maternal mental health. She’s the recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant and teaches English at Durham Technical Community College. You can find her online at bridgetbellpoetry.com.

Anne Maren-Hogan began writing poetry after raising children. Her first chapbook, The Farmer’s Wake, was published by Finishing Line Press. Laying the Past in the Light, published by Longleaf Press, looks at the resurgent power of landscape. Her manuscript, Vernacular, was the winner of the Lena M. Shull Poetry Book Contest.

Michael Wayne Friedman received his MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. His poems have appeared in Tule Review, Kakalak, Wherewithal, Stray Branch, and others. His first full-length collection of poetry, Atmosphere, became available in print from Main Street Rag Publishing in May 2024.
