Idiom Wines, part of the Bottega Family Wines Group in Somerset West, South Africa, was founded by Alberto and Valerie Bottega as a legacy rooted in their Italian heritage. Their Da Capo vineyards, planted in 1999 on diverse granite and sandstone soils at varying elevations, allow for multiple micro-terroirs. Under winemaker Reino Thiart, Idiom produces 19 varietals, blending French and Italian styles with Cape terroir, alongside limited “900 Series” and “Imperium” wines. The estate also offers a restaurant, wine tastings, and events, creating a full experience that celebrates craftsmanship and heritage.
