RB and Jenny Fitch fell in love with their stays at Relais & Châteaux properties across the U.S. and Europe. During a visit to a charming Relais property in New York’s Adirondack Mountains, they chatted with the innkeeper who explained the meaning behind Relais membership. This friendly conversation sparked an idea. Later, in the mid-1980s, the Fitches traveled to Paris with hopes of joining Relais with the Fearrington House Restaurant. However, they learned that membership was then reserved only for places that offered both a restaurant and an inn. “So we built an inn,” RB recalled with a smile. The inn was completed in 1986, and by 1988, the Fearrington House Inn and Restaurant were delighted to join the Relais & Châteaux family.
The Fearrington House Inn offers a long list of amenities and access to beautifully crafted courtyard gardens. Because every inn room has a unique layout and design, some amenities may be specific to a room category and not universally available. If you have a specific preference, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Please note room rates are based on double occupancy.
Our highest room category offers king beds and fireplace, plus additional upgrades like larger sitting rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms, walk-in closets, separate jetted tub and shower. Several have their own private gardens with sitting areas.
This upper tier room category offers a luxurious bedroom with a king bed and a spacious bathroom. Rooms also boast a separate living room area and more space for you and your guests.
A step up from our standard accommodations, a deluxe room boasts a separate lounge space or nook, in addition to a bedroom with a king, queen or two double beds. Many have delightful views of our gardens.

Raised in a family of hoteliers, Theresa learned the intricacies of managing luxury hotels in both Europe and the Caribbean from a very early age. After earning a degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida, Theresa spent several years at properties in the US and Europe including the prestigious Rafael Hotel in Munich. Theresa has been with The Fearrington House since 2000.

Our skilled, experienced staff offers facials, massages, pedicures and manicures. We’re the only spa in the Southeast to use the entire facial, body, and exclusive Biotec aesthetics technology line from Elemis, a leading British luxury spa and skincare company. Our nail polishes are from Côte and long lasting Vinylux that offer the best in classic and modern colors. Spa gift cards and certificates are available online or in the Spa.
