Heba Salama Photography Captures Memorable Fearrington Village Ceremony

Ellie Preyer and Robby Templeton met as Princeton University students. When they decided to tie the knot, they picked Ellie’s home state, North Carolina, to be the site of their classic celebration. Fearrington Village proved to be the ideal spot, and the pair enlisted some stellar NC wedding vendors – including Heba Salama Photography – to help them pull off a memorable day.

Ellie and Robby toasted to nine years of love at Fearrington Village. Although Ellie hardly recalls the first time she and Robby met, he remembers being “struck by her bright, friendly smile and engaging nature” when she sold him a shirt while fundraising for her Princeton University sorority. Despite growing up on separate coasts – Ellie in Hillsborough, North Carolina, and Robby in northern California – the pair crossed paths at Princeton again in 2013, a year after their first encounter, and have been together since. Robby popped the question in summer 2019 at the end of a hike in Asheville, North Carolina.

A Fearrington Village Fete

Growing up, Ellie was close to her grandmother. She made weekly trips to visit her at Fearrington Village in Chatham County, NC. Ellie’s precious memories, plus new ones made during subsequent visits with Robby, led the couple to choose Fearrington as the venue for both their ceremony and reception, which took place (after several reschedules due to the pandemic) on March 19, 2022. Their classic garden wedding was captured by Chapel Hill-based Heba Salama Photography.

“Heba was wonderful!” Ellie says. “She did our engagement photos in San Francisco as well as our wedding, and we loved working with her and how the photos turned out.”

Locally, Heba is known for her exceptional eye for wedding portraits. Heba captured Ellie and Robby in the fields surrounding Fearrington Village, which provided a picturesque setting for their wedding photos.

The couple incorporated elements of their home states of North Carolina and California in reception design. “We used a motif of each of our state flowers intertwined in our embroidered monogram napkins, the escort card display and the cake,” Ellie says.

Linens, china and chairs from American Party Rentals helped complete the spring garden theme the couple envisioned for their reception inside the barn.

Ellie and Robby filled their classic Fearrington Village wedding with many personal touches. Furthermore, Ellie’s cousins sung a rendition of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” as she walked down the aisle. Other details included signature cocktails inspired by their dog, “Boogie,” and welcome bags with their favorite local treats like Big Spoon Roasters nut butters.
