I had my first massage at the Spa at Fearrington a couple months ago and I can’t stop thinking about it!

Immediately upon walking into the spa, I was welcomed warmly and guided to the Spa Lounge and offered a water, which I happily accepted. Shortly thereafter, I was greeted by my massage therapist who gently led me up the stairs to the well-appointed massage rooms. After asking a series of questions, from whether certain areas needed more attention to what kind of pressure I wanted, she left me to undress and make myself comfortable on the (heated!) massage table.

My massage therapist was clear throughout the entire hour-long experience, always checking in to ask whether the pressure was too much or too little, if I was still doing okay. She was strong, but gentle, and she made sure to tell me to let her know if it ever got to the point of pain. “There’s a difference between hurts so good and just hurts.” She even asked afterwards if I wanted to shower or let the oils sink in throughout the day. Everything felt thorough and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. I even called some friends afterwards to gush about my experience and they said they could *hear* the relaxation in my voice!
