Meet Roz and Kelly
Roz and Kelly Kerins moved to the Millcreek neighborhood in Fearrington Village last year. Learn more about why they chose to build in Fearrington Village.
What brought you to Fearrington Village?
We were drawn to Fearrington for many reasons. Geographically it was ideal because it is relatively close to the ocean and the mountains, and more importantly it is a very progressive, artistic, environmentally conscious community. We felt at home upon our first visit. Everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful. We loved the woods, the pastures, the cows, the goats, the birds, the deer, and of course the village center. The serenity and beauty of the whole area, as well as the Duke Fitness Center and outdoor Fearrington swimming pool were all deal makers. Also, it is only 20-30 minutes from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, great restaurants and shopping!
Why did you choose the Millcreek neighborhood in Fearrington Village?
Millcreek was just being developed when we visited in August 2016. We wanted to build and it seemed like a good fit. It was literally a circle which we liked. The association would also mow the lawn! The expertise and organization of the Fitch Creations staff made the building process exciting. They truly guide you through the process.
What are some of your favorite things about Fearrington?
We love the serenity and beauty of the natural setting and our wonderful neighbors who are genuinely friendly without being intrusive. They are good friends with very interesting lives and life experiences. There is a commitment to community here and a true felling of camaraderie. We love the outings and potlucks with neighbors. Listening to the frogs sing at night with the stars seemingly at arms length is a long way from Chicago.
