Fall Seasonal is Here and It Smells Divine
The Spa at Fearrington will showcase a new Seasonal Treatment of Geranium Mint. Let’s take a look at each of these two ingredients to better understand the healing affects it has on your skin.
The geranium plant originated from South Africa and was not introduced to Europe until 1690. There are more than 400 species of geranium currently spread widely in temperate parts of the world. However, only 10 varieties are actually used for essential oils. As the geranium plant was introduced to Europe, France was the first to distill the plant and cultivate geranium oil in the 17th century.
But even before this time, the essential oil was already reported to have been used by the ancient Egyptians in a wide variety of applications including the promotion of a clear, smooth, and radiant complexion, balancing of hormones, alleviation of anxiety and fatigue, and improvement of moods.
Even after thousands of years, the geranium oil is still used for almost all the same purposes of the ancient Egyptians. It is a natural, safe, and effective remedy that can improve your skin, mood, and internal health. Here is a list of the oil’s uses:
- Stress and anxiety
- Depression
- Hormone balance
- Inflammation
- Circulation
- Blood pressure imbalances
- Skin conditions
The oil has antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties beneficial for reducing acne breakouts, skin irritation, and skin infections when applied to the skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties are also useful for soothing any redness caused by acne or skin irritation.
The second ingredient in our Seasonal Treatments is Mint. Mint is an abundant source of menthol and has strong antibacterial properties. It is often used in cleansers, astringents, toners, and moisturizers. This ingredient offers the following benefits for your skin:
- Brightens your complexion
- Treats Acne
- Soothes mosquito bites and other skin irritants
- Hydrates and tones your skin
- Rejuvenates your skin
The Spa at Fearrington will offer this luxurious seasonal treatment in a 60 or 90 minute body exfoliation that includes massage. This body exfoliation begins with a dry brush exfoliation made from cactus plants. Next is an application of the Geranium Mint Scrub then followed by a massage with the Geranium Mint hydrating body cream. Round out your spa day with our Seasonal pedicure and manicure with this wonderful, hydrating product and receive 10% off all three treatments when booking in the same day. These seasonal treatments will be available until the end of December.
