NCPS Poetry Reading with Earl Carlton Huband, Gary Phillips, and Kashiana Singh

The North Carolina Poetry Society continues its 2024 readings with three authors plus an open mic session. Please join us!

Earl Carlton Huband is the author of The Innocence of Education and In the Coral Reef of the Market. The latter won the 2021 Peace Corps Writers Best Book of Poetry Award. Both are based on his experiences in the Sultanate of Oman.

Gary Phillips, former poet laureate of Carrboro, is the author of The Boy the Brave Girls and Subjects Suitable for Poetry. He is a kitchen-witch and a child of Appalachia. He has been published in many journals and platforms. Gary and his wife live in Chatham County in a rammed-earth house.

When Kashiana is not writing, she lives to embody her TEDx talk theme of Work as Worship into her every day. Woman by the Door was released in 2022. Her latest full-length collection, Witching Hour, is due to be released with Glass Lyre Press.
