Explore Local and Regional Art in the Village Year-Round!
Whether you're visiting for the Folk Art Show or any time of the
year, please be sure to visit the other areas here where
extraordinary works by area artists can be found. The lower level of
the
Old Granary Restaurant showcases rotating exhibits by talented
artists. Pieces in The Old Granary Gallery are available for sale
and may be collected at the end of each exhibit period. Don't miss
the outdoor sculptures at
Roost which are available for sale by amazing regional artists
such as William Brock, Paul Hill, Tinka Jordy, William Moore, Mike
Roig, and Edwin White.
Finally, don't overlook the whimsical, wind-driven whirligigs
featuring belted cows, bicycles and animals greet visitors and
residents to Fearrington Village. The elaborately engineered and
colorful sculptures were created by North Carolina artist Vollis
Simpson. Now in his early 90s, Vollis continues to create
whirligigs, although on a much smaller scale, at his workshop in
Lucama near Wilson, NC. Vollis' work can be found at the North
Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, the American Visionary Art Museum
in Baltimore, and the annual Whirligig Festival in Wilson.
