About Building a Home at Fearrington
"I bought a new home in Fearrington about 3 years
ago, and I could not be more pleased. I could rave about my
neighbors and the whole Fearrington Village neighborhood, but the
purpose of this note is to point out some unique elements of new
houses here. They are built by craftsmen and women who take great
pride in the quality of their work. If you have ever seen a bad
installation of flooring and tile (as I have in Cary and Virginia),
you will never take craftspeople for granted again. Some of these
standards arise from the workers families---several are second
generation---the painting crew is brothers. I often joke that if I
didn’t like the flooring, I would tell the senior guy’s mother who
still runs things!!
My house is custom-built, but the same crews build
the new spec houses. I watched a spec house go up across the street.
The roofing guy used a nail gun to lay down the shingles. Then he
examined each one and often stopped, pulled out his hammer, and made
sure the installation was right. He had no idea that anyone was
watching.
Another enduring element is that Fitch Creations will
still be here years from now. All my other new homes had builders
that finished a neighborhood and moved out. Here, you can still get
advice and even privately hire the experts years later. You probably
don’t know Bobby - who is the grand finisher - but if you did, you
would be so glad that he’s around to help. I needed to replace
something and was able to contact the office (3 years later) for a
model number and knowledge of what’s behind some walls. Basically,
the culture of building houses in Fearrington adheres to very high
standards of quality over the long term."

"Working with Fitch Creations was the most gratifying
and enjoyable real estate experiences we have ever had. While we
were initially hesitant about building, Laura had a reasonable and
satisfactory answer for every concern. Working with her and Jon in
developing the blueprint was down right fun! We had great
give-and-take work sessions that resulted in a plan that was
literally everything we wanted. No problem was too big or too
complicated; none of our desires were treated as trivial; no
promises were made that were not kept.
When John and Paige began their work with us we found the same level
of expertise, flexibility and good humor that resulted in the
construction and outfitting phase to be as enjoyable as the planning
phase. And, get this: the project came in ON BUDGET and two days
BEFORE the projected end date!
In one of our initial conversations, Laura assured us that if we
liked the concept of Fearrington Village, they could build us a home
that reflected our wishes and our desires in every way. That is
exactly what happened - and we had fun in the process!"

"As my retirement approached and I considered
relocating, I started out convinced that having a home built from
the ground up was not for me. Past experiences had been traumatic,
and I thought that living out-of-state during its construction would
be too stressful. However, as I became familiar with the personnel,
quality and reputation of Fitch Creations, I changed my mind, and I
find that I am actually enjoying the process. I can't imagine
building a home under better circumstances."

"Relocating from New England and building a house all
at the same time could have been overwhelming, but the Fitch team
made the whole process a joy. They were on budget and on time. More
importantly, they supported my project with enthusiasm, lots of
helpful suggestions, and personal attention. I love my house! I tell
everyone that it’s the prettiest house in Fearrington - Harry (my
dog) certainly thinks so."

“One great aspect of the selections process is that,
if you wish, all of it can be done right at Fitch Creations. You sit
around the big table with the decision lists that Paige has
prepared, or wander around the room looking at the many items and
catalogues on hand, or ask Paige to get samples of this or that. Our
advice to anyone who is considering building in Fearrington: relax,
you’re in good hands. You’re going to enjoy it and have a wonderful
home when you are done.”

our new home."

"Upon beginning our tour of Fearrington we were
immediately impressed with the uniqueness of the village. We toured
the model homes and various parcels of vacant land with Keebe Fitch
as the Fearrington representative and by the end of the day we were
negotiating to purchase a lot in Bradford Place.
The next few months were an exciting and challenging experience. Our
Fearrington team, who had to work with us in a long distance
relationship, were creative, patient and extremely knowledgeable
about the design and construction process. Jon Condoret and Laura
spent a significant amount of time providing suggestions and ideas
on the eventual design of the house. Paige Greene was instrumental
in the selection process and at times challenged us to consider
choices which ultimately turned out to be perfect.
As long-distanced builders we were very concerned about quality of
workmanship, scheduling commitment and communications with the
individuals responsible for our home construction. Friends who had
undertaken similar projects of building out of state shared horror
stories with us which caused a high level of anxiety.
We were extremely fortunate to have had John Farrell as our project
manager. He understood our anxiety and concerns about being out of
state and throughout the construction process he was always
available via phone to answer questions, provide suggestions for
improvements and ensure that the house was built according to
specifications and remain on schedule."

"When we first became interested in living at
Fearrington we stopped in Fitch Creations, Inc. to inquire about
available townhouses. Within a few months we were living in
Weathersfield Townhomes and the purchase went incredibly smooth.
Having bought and sold homes before, we found this was an
exceptional company to work with. We lived in the townhome a year
when, for medical reasons, we needed a one level home.
We began
talking with Fitch Creations, Inc. again and within 2 months we had
closed on a one level home with a double garage! Our townhouse was
sold within two weeks of it going on the market with Fitch
Creations, Inc. Again a seamless transaction! We were provided with
the names of people that we needed to get the townhouse in pristine
condition and were very pleased with their results, as well as the
cost. I would recommend Fitch Creations, Inc. to anyone interested
in buying or selling in Fearrington Village. The staff, who have
years of experience at Fearrington, work together to help the
customer and to us that meant everything!"
