Somerhill Gallery
Now in its 37th year, Somerhill Gallery is one of the most prominent galleries in the Southeast. Abstract and representational artwork in all visual disciplines is on display in the gallery's spacious 9,600 square foot setting. Designed by award-winning architect Philip Szostak, Somerhill's environment of continuously unfolding gallery spaces leads art aficionados through fine art glass and jewelry, a contemporary photography gallery, an open-air glass atrium which stands at the center of the main salon where featured exhibitions are shown. White oak floors, fabric walls and over 40 skylights make it an oasis to the sophisticated traveler. The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University

Ackland Art Museum
Established in 1958 through the bequest of William Hayes Ackland, this museum has earned international recognitions for its fine works. The museum has a broad range of western art ranging from ancient Egyptian to the present. The strong collection of sculptures and paintings from the nineteenth century include works by Rodin, Degas and Delacroix. The modern art collection includes works by such artists as Andy Warhol and James Rosenquist. The museum has sculpture, paintings, photographs, an extensive print collection, and a room furnished with English and American period furniture.

Seagrove Potteries
The Seagrove area of Randolph County, between Asheboro and Pinehurst, is a haven of tradition pottery-making that has experienced a great resurgence of interest over the last 25 years. Jugtown is probably the best known pottery in Seagrove, but there are actually more than 70 potters selling stoneware of many designs and glazes. Most of them still adhere to the techniques of their forbearers. Many other traditional crafts are also sold in the Seagrove potteries.
