Fearrington offers many ways to stay
active and healthy. Walking
paths and trails extend throughout the community, and since we
enjoy four distinct seasons without extreme
temperatures, they can be
used virtually year-round. Walk to the
Duke Center for Living, a
state-of-the-art, comprehensive wellness facility managed by
Duke Health, which offers amenities from the latest exercise
equipment to an indoor lap pool to massage and physical therapists.
During the summer months, walk to Fearrington's
Swim & Croquet Club,
which offers residents and their families a club that includes an
Olympic sized pool. Resident
clubs focused on activities ranging from golfing to biking offer
easy, social and fun ways to pursue exercise outside the community.
And
on October 12th, The Spa at
Fearrington opened, offering relaxing and pampering treatments
for residents of Fearrington Village, inn guests and visitors.
Our area offers a number of medical resources. In addition to the
Duke Clinic at Galloway Ridge, three miles north of Fearrington
is
Chatham Crossing Medical Center, part of UNC Health Care. Both
these clinics offer access to the state-of-the-art facilities and
specialists at both
UNC
Heath Care eight miles away and
Duke Medicine
twenty miles away.
Every week from April to November, there's the growers only
Fearrington Farmers Market, now in its 20th year, offering
seasonal fruits and vegetables, often picked that very morning from
neighboring farms. Freshly prepared, healthy cuisine is also
available at our restaurants, under the direction of
Chef Colin Bedford.
